"Nina Caussa maximizes the effect of her minimalism, creating whole environments from the placement of blinds or an antique bathtub (…) The design of the space conjures a working-class, at times impoverished milieu straight out of the 1930s, with lots of attention to detail" Los Angeles Times

The biggest challenge was to design and fabricate a 22ft puppet shaped as a tongue. We choose to make a giant inflatable that was activated by two puppeteers. The tongue would jump on stage, swinging wildly from side to side and “licking” the first row of audience.

Machine Project, 2017
This was a site-specific theater piece at Machine Project, Los Angeles. The entire floor of the gallery space was raised on a rake that divided the space diagonally. The space above and below the rake were connected by several traps that actors and puppets used to transition from the under world to the upper world. Audience sat on the lower part of the rake and above it, in a balcony.
